A private voice journal that listens — and helps you reflect.

Speak your thoughts out loud. A quiet companion listens — and asks a question now and then to help you go deeper. Your words stay on your device.

Coming soon to the App Store

On-device by design · No account needed · Free to start

A person sitting calmly by a round window — a sunset over the sea by day, a moonlit night sky after dark — with a journal and a small plant resting nearby.

Three quiet steps

No streaks to keep, no forms to fill. You speak; it listens; you notice more over time.

  1. Speak

Speak your thoughts in your own words — no blank page, no prompts to fill in. Just talk.

  2. Reflect

A companion listens, and nudges a little deeper when it helps. Most of the time, it makes space.

  3. Grow

Notice patterns across weeks and months — gently surfaced, never scored or gamified.

An open book resting by a round window — a sunset over the sea by day, a starlit sky after dark.
In your own words

No blank page. Just start talking.

Speak the way you think out loud — mid-thought, unfiltered, with no prompts to fill in. Your companion listens, and your words become the entry.

The session

Less like using an app. More like being heard.

Speak freely — your companion mostly listens. Every so often it hands you back your own words, or quietly connects two things you said. One, placed well, and you feel it.

You

“I keep saying yes to things I don't really have room for.”

Reflect

Earlier you said, “I'm allowed to want a slower life.” That one's yours.

Personal Wiki

A private wiki of your life — that writes itself

Talk, and it assembles quietly in the background. The people, places, projects — and parts of you — that keep coming back each get a page of their own, written from your own words. You never tag, link, or file a thing.

  • People, places, projects, themes — and parts of you — each with a page of their own.
  • Relationships keep their history. “Dating, since January” becomes “ex, January to March” — and both chapters stay.
  • Every page traces back to dated moments from your own entries. Nothing is invented.
  • It lives on your iPhone, and one switch turns the whole thing off.

Features

Built to feel heard

Each part is quiet by design. Nothing here is a habit tracker or a dashboard — it’s a mirror you can talk to.

Softly glowing threads weaving across a calm room toward a round window.
Threads

Notice what you keep returning to

The themes you circle back to are gathered quietly over time — never treated as a problem to fix — so you can watch how your thinking shifts across weeks and months.

Where journaling quietly deepens

The more you speak, the more there is to notice. Over weeks, Smart Journaling reflects your own patterns back to you — the themes you return to, the sentences worth keeping, and a hello from who you were.

  • Recurring themes, gently gathered — never labeled as a problem.
  • Your own most resonant sentences, saved as Echoes.
  • A weekly letter — one sentence from your past self.

Private by architecture

Smart Journaling was built to hold your most personal words — so privacy isn’t a setting buried in a menu. It’s the foundation.

Your audio never leaves your device.

Recording and transcription happen entirely on your iPhone. Only text is ever sent, and only while cloud features are on — with your first name swapped for a stand-in, except in the reply your companion speaks aloud, which needs your real name to say it. The privacy policy lists every item, line by line.

  • No account. No ads, no analytics.

No sign-up, no advertising identifiers, no analytics, and no cookies on this site.

  • On-device mode, anytime.

Prefer that nothing ever leaves? Turn cloud features off and nothing you write is sent anywhere — not during a session, and not afterwards.

  • A name shield.

Before anything is sent for a reply, your first name is swapped for a random stand-in — the mapping stays on your device.

  • Never sold. Never used to train.

Your reflections aren’t sold, shared for advertising, or used to train any AI model.

  • Yours to delete.

Clear your journal to start over, or erase everything — name, voice, settings and all — in the app, instantly, with no email to write. Backups are encrypted with a password only you hold.

  • Works offline.

Journaling, on-device transcription, and your whole history don’t need a connection.

A quick note on what this isn’t

It treats you as already whole

Smart Journaling isn’t here to fix you or optimize you. It’s a calm, private space to hear yourself think — for adults processing real life.

  • Not therapy or medical care
  • Not a productivity or habit tracker
  • Not gamified — no streaks, no badges
  • Not a wellness gimmick
  • Never preachy or instructional

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Is Smart Journaling free?

Yes — the first version is completely free, with no subscription and no paywall. Some optional premium features may arrive later, but the core experience is free to use.

Do I need to create an account?

No account, ever. There’s no sign-up and no email required to journal. Your entries live on your device, tied to no identity.

Is my journaling really private?

Your audio never leaves your iPhone — recording and transcription happen on-device. Only text is sent, and only while cloud features are on, with your name replaced by a stand-in first. Nothing is sold or used to train AI models.

What happens if I turn cloud features off?

Reflection keeps working, entirely on your iPhone, and nothing you write is sent anywhere — not during a session, and not in the background afterwards. The AI-written extras (themes, letters, lenses, your Personal Wiki) simply pause until you turn it back on. One switch, in Settings → Privacy.

How do I delete my data?

Two ways, both in the app under Settings → Your Data. “Delete your journal” clears entries, audio and everything derived from them but keeps your settings, for starting over. “Delete everything” also erases your name, voice, affirmations and settings. Neither needs an email to us — your journal never reaches our server, so there is nothing to delete on our side.

What is the Personal Wiki?

A private wiki of your life that builds itself as you talk. The people, places, projects, and themes you keep returning to each get their own page — a short summary, a dated timeline, and how things have evolved — all written from your own words. You never tag or file anything, it lives on your iPhone, and one switch turns it off.

Does it replace therapy?

No. Smart Journaling is a journaling tool, not therapy, counseling, or medical care. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) in the US, or your local emergency number.

Can I type instead of speaking?

Yes. There’s a writing mode for when you’d rather type — or when speaking out loud isn’t an option.

Which iPhone do I need?

An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Some on-device features are enhanced on the newest models and iOS versions.

If I share the app, will I know if someone joins?

Yes — a quiet note on your Home screen tells you someone joined through your link. It’s a count, never a who: nothing about the person who joined is shown to you, and they’re never asked to sign in or hand anything over to be counted.

When does it launch?

It’s in final testing ahead of its App Store release. Join the waitlist below and we’ll let you know the moment it’s live.
